Does Diono allow a gap between the car seat and vehicle seat?

Diono allows for a gap between car seat and vehicle seat while forward facing, as long as the car seat is pushed as far back into the vehicle seat as it will allow and the top of the car seat is supported by either the seatback or headrest assembly of the vehicle.
