Can I use an American seat in Canada, or vice versa?

Under current regulations in Canada and the USA, only car seats that have met the regulatory specifications for that country may be sold and used legally in each region. That being said, as a visitor, it is permissible to use a car seat purchased in the USA, in Canada and vice versa.
